Mini Cultural Trips in Taipei

Formerly known as Paronpon, this area is one of the earliest developed districts in Taipei, encompassing Dadaocheng and Dalongdong Cultural and Historical District. In 1862, with the official opening of Tamsui Port to trade, Dadaocheng's streets became a hub for goods from north and south, including Chinese medicinal herbs, textiles, and chemical materials. Meanwhile, Dalongdong’s Bao’an Temple hosts the annual Baosheng Cultural Festival, a significant local folk event. The district retains many historic Western-style houses, and in recent years, driven by cultural and creative initiatives, it has become a popular destination for visitors exploring its unique streetscapes.
